The Lawmaker representing Ife North Local Government Area in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Tunde Olatunji yesterday flagged off His Cocoa Revolution Project in the constituency where farmers received free hybrid Cocoa seedlings.
In a public statement issued by Hon. Olatunji who is also the Chief Whip of the State Legislative House, the project tagged "Koko Ola" is a wealth creation and economic emancipation project of his administration aimed at training and empowering farmers to boost Cocoa farming by providing about a 100,000 new hybrid Cocoa seedlings over the next four(4) years.
He highlighted that the project is part of the economic sustainability master plan for his constituency as the improved Cocoa seedlings have been adjudged by experts as capable of living up to 100 years with 60 to 70 active productivity years. "We don't just want to focus on providing solutions for today, we also want to build legacies"
The event which was held at the Ipetumodu Town Hall, the seat of the Local Government' headquarters also had in attendance the State commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Adedayo Adewole, the Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Martins Olajide Adeyeye, Community Leaders, Major stakeholders in the agricultural sector and farmers.
