UPDATE: PRESIDENCY WARNS AGAINST POLITICISATION OF THE SECURITY SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY AS OONI, BUHARI MEET IN ABUJA

The presidency has warned against politicising the security situation in the country. This was disclosed in a statement by the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II while briefing newsmen after a closed door meeting held with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja earlier today.

According to the Ooni Ogunwusi who is also the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria(NCTRN), President Buhari has urged the traditional rulers across the country to be conscious of some political elements who might want to take the advantage of the security lapses in some parts of the country for their own interest.

The meeting, it was learned, came up in response to the prevailing security challenges currently facing the country particularly in some parts of the South-Western States where farmers/Herders clashes and other communal criminal cases have been rampant in the recent times.
