ODUMAKIN'S WIFE, FAMILY THANK OONI OF IFE FOR FATHERLY SUPPORT

The family of the late human rights activist and former spokesperson of the Pan-Yoruba Sociopolitical group Afenifere, Late Comrade Yinka Odumakin has expressed their gratitude to the Arole Oduduwa His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi Ojajs II, the Ooni of Ife for the immense fatherly role played in giving the departed Yoruba defender a final honour and beffiting burial rite.

In a message of appreciation signed by the deceased wife Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin and conveyed to the Ooni at his Ile Oodua, His Palace at Enuwa, Ile-Ife by family delegates on Tuesday, the family appreciated Ooni for his fatherly and royally support including immortalizing the memory of the great national and Yoruba icon by naming a road, the Ife-Moro road after him among other gestures.

We are grateful for the road Kabiyesi named after our son, brother, husband and father.

Late Comrade Yinka Odumakin breathed his last on Saturday 3rd of April, 2021 following complications related to Covid-19 and was laid to rest on Saturday 24th of April 2021 at his country home, Moro in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun state after a gloryfilled funeral service attended by dignitaries, top government officials and human rights advocates.
