In a message of appreciation signed by the deceased wife Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin and conveyed to the Ooni at his Ile Oodua, His Palace at Enuwa, Ile-Ife by family delegates on Tuesday, the family appreciated Ooni for his fatherly and royally support including immortalizing the memory of the great national and Yoruba icon by naming a road, the Ife-Moro road after him among other gestures.
"The family of the Late Comrade Yinka Odumakin hereby expresses its gratitude to His Imperial Majesty, Oonirisa, Kabiyesi Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 2nd, Ooni of Ile Ife.
We are grateful for the road Kabiyesi named after our son, brother, husband and father.

We also thank Kabiyesi immensely for the bust presented and the bigger one pledged.

Late Comrade Yinka Odumakin breathed his last on Saturday 3rd of April, 2021 following complications related to Covid-19 and was laid to rest on Saturday 24th of April 2021 at his country home, Moro in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun state after a gloryfilled funeral service attended by dignitaries, top government officials and human rights advocates.
