INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY: OONI SALUTES THE YOUTHS, CELEBRATES THEM WITH A VOLUNTEERING WEEK

The Arole Oduduwa and Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II,  has reaffirmed his commitment to youth development in the country.

The prominent monarch who doubles as the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria(NCTRN) made this known in a special release on the occasion of this Year's International Youth Day on Thursday.

Ooni Ogunwusi who described the Youth as an embodiment of the nation's and by extension African's strength further reassured the younger generation of his unflinching support for their innovations, which in his words represent hope for the nations.

Ooni further disclosed that this Year's edition of the Youths day will be celebrated in a special way as one of the Youth initiatives of His Imperial Majesty, the Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) has dedicated a week long Volunteering session to be anchored on the theme, "Give Another, Pay it Forward" which will hold from the 19th to the 26th of August, 2021.

"In 2015, I undoubtedly dedicated my throne to the youths of this nation. The strength of our nation and the continent of Africa remains in our exceptional young populations. 

"You stand at the threshold of history as the essence of my royalty and my legacies will be preserved and defined by our collective efforts towards the preservation of our cultural heritage, transformation of our nation's dwindling economy through your innovation ingenuities. 

"No one can question your relentless aspirations to offer much-needed human capital to speed up Africa’s competitiveness on a global stage and to foster the sustainability of the continent unprecedented wealth. 

"On the occasion of this international youth day and through my Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) which has dedicated 19th-26th of August 2021 to youths volunteering week with the theme, “Give Another, Pay it Forward”, I commend your fascinating and continued ambition that is geared towards your contribution to national discourses and its development through various investment that you are making. The hope of our nations lie in your extraordinary hands.
