MEDIA BIGWIG DELE MOMODU BAGS NEW CHIEFTAINCY TITLE

Veteran columnist and publisher, Ovation Magazine, Chief Ayobami Dele Momodu has been confered with a new chieftancy title of Aare Tayese of Iwoland alongside his wife as Yeye Aare Tayese of the same town by His Imperial Majesty, the Oluwo of Iwoland Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Ilufemiloye Telu I.

In a letter addressed to the duo, dated 27th August, 2021, the Oluwo who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers stated that Chief Momodu's invaluable contributions to the promotion of the Yoruba culture and tradition as well as ensuring the sustenance of good gnervnance through his media craft made him to be considered for the honorary title.

"Having contributed immensely to the promotion of Yoruba culture and tradition, and your mental beneficence through national and international media, in ensuring that quality governance are delivered, my throne(Oluwo In Council), considered you worthy and most suitable for the Honorary Chieftancy title of Aare Tayese of Iwoland and your wife as Yeye Aare Tayese of Iwoland.

"We deem you worthy of the title of Aare Tayese and Yeye Aare Tayese of Iwoland from a paramount ruler of ancient Crown from medieval times and one of the natural Crown in Yorubaland", the letter read in part.

The conferment of the title, Oluwo further noted was carved out of the belief that the recipients have what it takes to contribute to the actualization of the developmental goals of the ancient city.

"We have the hope in God and your progressive like minds to complement the throne in promoting her vision and mission statements. We acknowledge your merits and pray to benefit from your mental assets to develop the growing land(Iwo).

"The growth of Nigeria, Africa and international journalism was not without your vigorous attention. Your makings in quality pieces of advice, connections and goal getting spirit are needed to catapult Iwoland to an enviable height", the monarch added.

Chief Momodu, a former presidential candidate who also holds the titles of the Onigege Ara of Jogaland, Ogun State; The Basorun of Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State; The Ogwanusi of Imeri Kingdom, Ondo State; The Onu ne Kwuru Oha I of Etiti Mgboko Umuanunu, Abia State among others had upon the receipt of the letter took to his social media pages to publicly appreciate the King for the gesture.

"Our sincere gratitude to His Imperial Majesty, The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi and The Oluwo In Council for this great honour. Long live the King", he posted.
