The 2021 edition of the the Africa Fashion Week, London slated to hold at the Freemasons' Hall London tomorrow Saturday 9th October, 2021 is set to be marked in the City of Ife with a fashion show powered by the AdireOodua TextileHub, Ile-Ife in conjunction with the Undergrad Student Fashion School, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Founded by a Nigerian and Yoruba princess Ronke Ademiluyi about a decade ago, the AFWL is Europe largest fashion event focused on promoting and nurturing African and African-Inspired design talents. The annual International Fashion event features prominently in Digital Fashion Showcase, Exhibition and Shopping, Fashion Business Talks, Demonstrations and Workshops, Hair and Beauty Presentations as well as Ethical and Sustainable Fashion.
The brand since inception in 2011 has hosted 9 Catwalk events and contributed significantly in terms of expertise to at least 10 other events produced by 3rd parties including the likes of Mayor of London's Black History celebrations.
It has also showcased over 800 emerging designers and exhibitors from Africa, Europe and America to close to 70,000 visitors including buyers, retailers, influential industry professionals and the media which has earned it a space on the annual fashion calendar.
In an update at the Hub's official Instagram handle @adireooduahub, the event of which attendance is said to be strictly by invitation via the link will take place at the Hub's facility located inside the Ife Grand Resorts and Industrial Park by 2:00Pm.
