Oyetola Releases N708m For Osun Pensioners

The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has released the sum of Seven Hundred and Eight Million Naira (N708,000,000) for the payment of retirement benefits of pensioners in the state

This was disclosed in a press release on Monday signed by the State Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade as obtained by newsmen.

According to the release, the sum of Five Hundred and Eight Million Naira (N508,000,000) of the released sum was approved for the payment of retired civil servants under the old pension scheme while an additional sum of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (N150,000,000) was approved for the payment of retirees under the contributory pensions scheme.

The statement further added that an additional Fifty Million Naira was approved for the payment of gratuities of retired officers under the old pension scheme.

The payment, Olowogboyega noted was part of Governor Oyetola's commitment to improve the welfare of retired civil servants and workers in the State.

The list of beneficiaries of the approved sum, he added, has been pasted on the notice board of the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation, the State’s Pension Bureau and the Office of the Head of Service while payment commences on Tuesday November 23rd, 2021.

Part of the statement read “Payment of the released funds starts on Tuesay, 23rd November 2021. Governor Adegboyega Oyetola assures all workers, both serving and retired that all efforts will be mustered to always give their welfare the pride of place it deserves”.
