A group of Yoruba youths under the aegis of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) have called on the spiritual leaders across the South-West to intervene with prayers towards ending the increasing cases of mysterious and premature deaths plaguing the region.
The group in a release titled "UNTIMELY DEATHS: YORUBA YOUTHS CALL ON ALL SPIRITUAL LEADERS FOR PRAYERS TO CLEANSE YORUBA LAND", signed by its National Secretary, Ogbeni Ajibode Abdulkabir Olawale and made available to IFE CITY BLOG, expressed a displeasure over the alarming rate of death reports of young and promising Nigerians especially as it affects the South-West region.
"The sad news on the loss of lives of young citizens of our country is fast becoming a reocurring daily decimal scenario, most especially in the southwest region. Conspicuously we receive so many shocking news of disastrous incidents occur with huge toll claims on lives of innocent young Nigerians.
"Regrettably, some of the deceased victims are born great future leaders, unfortunately they are denied of the full odd of greatness the future holds.", the statement read in part.
The Group in the statement expressed sympathy with the families affected by the sad incidents and prayed that God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses of their loved ones.
It therefore called on all spiritual leaders across the various religious Faiths as well as wellmeaning individuals in the entire region to intercede for the region in prayers and seclusions so as to end the scourge.
"Following the recent sad news negatively affecting some of our brothers and sisters, amongst which are; Timothy Adegoke, Sylvester Oromoni, Badagry saga children's, lekki massacre, Igangan killings, yewa deaths, Modakeke killings, and ghastly accident that claimed lives of 12 school pupils at Ojodu Berger in Lagos amongst other unfortunate incidents under investigations by our security experts respectively, the leadership of the Apex Yoruba Youths Interest group; Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide under the Presidency of Aare Barr. Oladotun Hassan, is using this medium to call on the prompt attention of all Yoruba Spiritual leaders, fathers and mothers across all faiths (i.e Islam, Christian and Traditional) and all well meaning Nigerians to swiftly delve into seclusions for prayers so as to bring this mirage of sad news to an end in our land.
"Our hearts are therefore with the families of the deceased as we pray for God's fortitude to be with them and may God in His infinite mercy forgive the shortcomings of all our deceased persons and grant them eternal rest.
