As the third edition of the Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) Awards draws near, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II has charged the youths in Africa to reclaim the continent's spirit.
The monarch in a statement on Sunday reiterated his commitment to advancing the cause of youths dominance across the Continent's critical areas of relevance.
The foremost traditional ruler while assuring the younger generation of his continued unflinching support for their ingenuous innovative strides, however emphasized the need for them to diligently work towards taking charge of the future which he said belongs to them.
"Leaning on the shoulders of my forefathers and in accordance with my royal calling through the Royal African Young Leadership Forum I'm dedicated to advancing the rebirth and dominance of our continent's young populations impact, particularly in the areas of leadership, innovation, academic prowess, creative expression, and entrepreneurialism.
"Starting with Nigeria, Africa's youth must boldly and collectively reclaim the continent's spirit via their passion, patriotism, undeniable energy, and contemporary, sustainable worldviews. Whilst our political leaders are playing catch-up policies and political schism, you are standing firmly at the cutting edge of new innovation integration that is changing our lives.
"Most significantly, you must establish an ideal transformative democratic system from Senegal to Nigeria, Egypt to Kenya, that can design a better leadership transition that prioritises communal prosperity for all Africans, not just a few. You own the future, and no one will give it to you unless you work together to seize it. You can count on my guidance as your cheerleader.", Ooni said.
The Royal African Young Leadership Forum(RAYLF) Awards is a Youth centred annual event under the Global Outreach Initiative of his Imperial Majesty, the Arole Oduduwa, Ooni to celebrate and Award some selected outstanding young people across African continent.
The third edition of the annual event, themed: "Africa of the Future: Fostering Inclusive Prosperity for the Next Generation" is scheduled to hold in May, 2022.
