The Ooni Of Ife, Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II on Monday joined Muslim faithfuls around the globe in the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The Ooni in a special Eid message charged Muslims to use the occasion to remember the sacrifices of the month of Ramadan, urging them to make love and sincerity of heart their watchwords in relating with their fellow men.
"As we celebrate another Eid, and despite the economic challenges that we face as a nation, I implore all Muslim faithfuls to remember the sacrifices of Ramadan and co-exist with one another in unity, love and all sincerity of heart.
"May all your prayers and our collective efforts bring positive developments to our nation and its people. Here’s wishing you all a successful Eid celebration" the message read.
Eid-el-Fitr is observsed yearly by muslims to mark the end of the Ramadan, a month-long fasting period. The celebration also referred to as Festival of Breaking the Fast is characterised by prayers, charity giving, festive meals and social gatherings.
