The lawmaker further blamed the increasing rate of insecurity in the parts of the country on the failure of the government to do enough to protect Nigerians.

He advised for a need for immediate activation of the State Police, towards ensuring the security of lives and properties of all citizens.

"We at the National Assembly are ready to provide a necessary legal framework to ensure the establishment and smooth running of State Police across Nigeria. The over-centralization of the Nigerian security architecture has done us more harm than good.

"I urge Nigerians to be security conscious and report all suspicious persons and moves to security authorities. We must police our environment by being vigilant and calling for help where necessary." he stated.
