Residents living along Okesoda-Iloro-Aganun road in Ile-Ife have appealed to the Ife Ooye Local Council Development Authority to come to their aide over what they described as constant flooding situation experienced in the area whenever it rains.
A resident of the area and Chairman, Okesoda community, Apostle G. S. Ayoola,JP who spoke on behalf of the community in a statement on Friday called on the local authority to rescue the community from the frustrating experiences occasioned by the flood which he said has lasted for long.
Apostle Ayoola also called on well-meaning individuals in the locality to intervene in their plight as several attempts to get the attention of the government have not yielded success.
"I want to invite the attention of the Chairman of Ife Ooye LCDA, once again to a section of the Okesoda-Iloro-Aganun road which causes flood each time it rains. The point is the culvert by the fence of The Apostolic Church Okesoda, directly opposite Okeatan junction.
"I am begging the Chairman to please heed our request and find a solution to this menace of road flood each time it rains. The people of Okesoda community sent a petition to the Chairman. but no action taken yet. People of goodwill should intervene and help us.", He said.
