In a press statement issued by the pageant host signed by its publicity manager, Nova Evans as obtained by IFECITYBLOG, the event which is the second of its kind, has been tagged the "the 90's edition" and is particularly aimed at rekindling some of the fashion and culture which characterised the period.
The event, the statement added, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, the 13th of November, 2022 at the Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre, JoyceB, Ibadan with an estimated audience of 1,500.
"The Most Beautiful Yoruba Girl (MBYG) is a unique cultural Beauty Pageant aimed to be recognized as a top leading beauty pageant that prides itself in preserving and promoting the Yoruba Cultural Heritage. It empowers young women by awarding them tertiary education scholarship and providing access to potable water for rural dwellers in Southwest, Nigeria.", the statement read in part.
Royalties expected at the event include the Imperial Royal Father of the Day, HIM, Oba Dr. Moshood Olalekan Ishola Balogogun Alli Okunmade II, the Olubadan of Ibadan land; Grand Royal Father of the Day, HRM, Oba Dr. Yisa 'Sola Adeniyi Olaniyan Abiwigbade Oshingin II, the Onipokia of Ipokia land alongside other eminent personalities.
The Most Beautiful Yoruba Girl pageant is convened by the Multi Award-winning Beauty Queen and cultural ambassador, Olamide Adeleke.
