The Ooni of Ife, Arole Oduduwa Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II on Friday joined Muslims across the globe in wishing them a happy Eid-al-Fitr celebrations.
Ooni in His Eid message described the moment as a time for faith adherents to rekindle the tenets of faith through prayers and good works.
"On behalf of the House of Oduduwa, I express my most sincere wishes to all Muslim faithfuls celebrating Eid-el-Fitr. It is indeed a time to honour and reignite faith fundamentals through prayers and public displays of dedication to living a life that pleases Olodumare. It is also an expression of how our spirituality can bridge gaps and bring communities closer under the symbols of friendship and kindness.
"During this time, I implore everyone to love their neighbours, reflect on the good fortune that today brings, adhere carefully to the precepts and values of love that are ingrained in the Muslim belief system, and recommit to the patriotism that our country needs from us.
"May the spirits of Eid-al-Fitr enfold you all to embrace less privilege in total giving, unfettered compassion, and lending to Olodumare during this special holiday season and always. #EidMubarak", Ooni wrote.
Eid-al-Fitr is a celebration marking the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, and is celebrated during the first three days of the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.
