Nigerian music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia professionally known as 2Baba has revealed the real reason he built a multimillion naira studio as a donation to the Music Department of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria, his Alma Mater.
2Baba who spoke during a breakfast chat organised by The 2baba Foundation in Lagos on Monday, noted that the gesture was in fulfilment of his promise to the University for recognizing him with an honorary Degree in Music and his adoption as fellow of the School of Music of the institution.
The "African Queen" crooner further disclosed that the the initiative was to contribute to an enabling environment with a view to boosting the morale of students in their creative aspirations and talent discovery.
The multi-award-winning singer also added that his next Album will be prepared at the studio.
“I built the multi-million music studio in OAU because I was given an honorary degree as a Fellow of the School of Music of the university.
“That was a huge honour for me, and I promised them I was going to build a standard music studio for the school, which I did.
“My aim is to give the students a standard space for creativity, and I hope the next generation of superstars will generate from there. Also, my next album will be packaged in that studio.”, 2Baba stated.
