Olojo Festival 2023: Organizers Release Timeline For Nigeria's Biggest Cultural Event | ICB News


Organizers have concluded plans to hold the 2023 edition of the annual Olojo Festival in Ile-Ife from Friday, September 29th to Monday, October 2nd, 2023.

A release published on Friday via the Festival's official X handle @olojofest, detailed this year's scheduled events and activities as follow:

Friday, September 29 - Ojo Ilagun, Iwode Ile-Ife (Community Cleansing). Oonirisa's Terrestrial Message to the World.

Saturday, September 30 - Festival Grand Finale official ceremony. Ojo Okemogun, and the Aare Cultural Procession.

Sunday, October 1 - Ojo Ajoyo (Asekagba). Grand Royal Invitational Reception.

Monday, October 2 - Ojo Ibile (Oonirisa's Ancestral Traditional Propitiation). Cultural Talents Hunt(Final).

Olojo is a renowned cultural festival that celebrates the origin of the existence of man and the universe.

Literally, Olojo in Yoruba means "Ojo ti Ojo di Ojo" which is translated as "The Day of the First Dawn" 

More significantly, the festival celebrates the unity, beauty and unification of the Yoruba race worldwide as embedded in the Festival's tagline as "One Yoruba, One Source, One Festival."

It marks a homecoming for all the descendants of Oduduwa globally to the ancient city of Ile-Ife, their root, cradle and the source.
