We Will Build on Existing Peace in Osun, New CP Isyaku Mohammed


The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Isyaku Mohammed has said that he will work to sustain the relative security and peaceful atmosphere in the state.

CP Isyaku stated this on Thursday in Ile-Ife while paying a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II at his palace.

He reiterated the commitment of the force to its primary responsibility of ensuring the security of lives and properties of the citizens, noting that this will remain the hallmark of their operations.

He expressed the need to commence his visitations in the states at Ile-Ife, being the source and craddle of human existence, adding that he is happy to be back to his root.

"My visitation to Ile-Ife today is a dream come through, an actualisation of a long desire to visit this renowned ancient city. I want to say that I am impressed by the level of security in the state but I want want to assure Your Majesty that the Police will not rest on our oars in intensifying efforts in maintaining a safer state", the CP said.

In his remark, the Ooni appreciated the CP and his entourage for their visit while expressing readiness for a sustained cooperation of the traditional institution with the security agency in ensuring a safe and peaceful state.

"I want to warmly welcome you to the state and particularly appreciate your visit to Ile-Ife, the source of mankind. We thank God for the relative peace and security already being enjoyed in the state which is a reflection of the good works of the Police and other security agencies and we do hope that during your time, Osun will be saver.

"As a traditional institution, we will always support the security umpiers in the state to ensured safe and secured communities for our subjects", Ooni stated.

CP Isyaku assumed office on 10th November, 2023. A statement by the Osun Command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, noted that the new Commissioner, holds two Master's degrees in Business Administration and Strategic Studies & Security Administration as well as a degree in Accounting.

Opalola added that the new Commissioner has served in various capacities at different States of the country, including FCT, Abuja.
