Adeleke made this known at the official flag off of a 14.9 billion naira Lagere Junction iconic Flyover project in the city which is billed for completion over the next twelve months.
The Governor who noted that the project is one out several others mapped out to make Ife shine as the source and Yoruba's ancestral home, further stressed his government priority to extending dividends of democracy to all citizens in the state.
The governor further described the choice of the location as very strategic considering the traffic volume and huge socioeconomic activities associated with the area which is regarded as the city's Central Business District.
"We recognize the significance of Ile Ife as the cradle of the Yoruba race which deserves a befitting and classical upliftment to enhance the tourism capital of this divine town.
"This project, when completed, will ease movement of traffic, facilitate connectivity and enhance economic activities between various towns and cities across this region", the Governor said.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Ooni of Ife His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, thanked the Governor for the gesture.
The revered monarch, in particular, expressed satisfaction over the location of the Iconic project which he said will have significant positive impact on the socioeconomic lives of all residents of Ile-Ife and its neighbours.
The Ooni however charged the governor on the the need to complete the project within the stipulated time in order not to let the people of Ile-Ife and environs down.
Governor Adeleke was accompanied by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi and other top government functionaries including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Adewale Egbedun, the State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Olusesan Oyedele, among others.
