JUST IN: Abuja Court Grants Sowore ₦10 Million Bail, Sets 24-Hour Deadline

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, setting the amount at ₦10 million with one surety in like sum.

As part of the bail conditions, the surety must be a responsible individual with landed property of equivalent value.

The original property documents and a passport photograph must be submitted to the court registrar. Sowore is also required to surrender his international passport.

Presiding over the case, Justice Musa Liman ruled that the bail conditions must be met within 24 hours.

Failure to comply will result in his remand in police custody until the conditions are fulfilled.

Sowore is facing seventeen-count cybercrime charges brought against him by the Nigerian Police Force.

He was arrested by the police and detained at the Intelligence Response Team detention facility in Abuja on Monday, after refusing to accept the administrative bail conditions granted to him by the police.

He was invited to the Force Intelligence Headquarters in Abuja over allegations of resisting and obstructing public officers, disobedience to lawful orders, cyberstalking, and actions allegedly aimed at preventing arrests.
