Aged women and widows in Ile-Ife on Saturday received a new month financial support as part of a long-standing tradition that has spanned nearly three decades, courtesy of a grassroots politician, Hon. (Otunba) Olusegun Ayodele Fanibe popularly known as Oko-Arugbo.
As early as 6:00 a.m., the women gathered at Fanibe’s country home, where they engaged in prayers, singing, and dancing in appreciation of his generosity.
The event, which has been a monthly ritual since 1996, underscores Fanibe’s commitment to the welfare of elderly women and widows in the community.
In a statement by his Media, Publicity, and Strategic Adviser, MacDonald Oladipo, the unwavering loyalty of the beneficiaries demonstrates their deep appreciation for Fanibe’s consistent support.
Acknowledging their devotion, Fanibe expressed gratitude for their long-standing relationship and reaffirmed his dedication to their well-being by distributing a substantial amount of money.
Fanibe’s initiative continues to serve as a source of relief for many elderly women and widows in Ile-Ife, strengthening his connection with the community through sustained acts of kindness.
