NOUN Ile-Ife Campus: Progress Recorded as Stakeholders Reach Consensus

A significant milestone has been reached in the establishment of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Ile-Ife Campus, as all outstanding issues concerning the use of approved buildings for the project have been successfully resolved.

A delegation of government officials from the Osun State Asset Management and the Ministry of Education, led by Executive Secretary Barrister Oyesiku Adelu, visited Ile-Ife on March 12, 2025, to facilitate discussions with key stakeholders.

The meeting, held in Ile-Ife, brought together representatives from Oduduwa College Management, Oduduwa College Old Students Association (OCOSA), Ife Development Board (IDB), Ife Alliance (IA), The Ife Intellectual (TII), Great Ife Movement (GIM), and Ife Youth Organisation (IYO).

Following extensive deliberations, all parties reached a unanimous agreement on the use of Oduduwa College as the take-off site for the NOUN Ile-Ife Campus. The planned renovation and refurbishment of the approved buildings are set to commence soon, marking a crucial step toward the project's realization.

The stakeholders expressed their commitment to ensuring the success of the initiative, acknowledging its potential to expand access to quality higher education in the region.

The project team extended its appreciation to all involved parties, including government officials, the Osun East Education District Officer, and the various stakeholder groups, for their cooperation, dedication, and support in advancing the NOUN Ile-Ife Campus initiative.

Renovation efforts are expected to proceed swiftly, paving the way for the campus to begin operations in the near future.

The NOUN Ile-Ife Campus is anticipated to contribute to the local economy by creating employment opportunities, fostering academic collaborations, and attracting investments in educational infrastructure.
